Visit to Tata Steel in Corby

After my weekly advice surgery in Corby, I visited Tata Steel for one of my regular catch-up meetings to discuss how the company is doing locally and the UK’s ‘exit’ from the European Union, along with the wider support the industry requires to help grow and expand it in the years ahead.

Historic steam locomotive to pass through Corby:

I read some really exciting news for trainspotters and rail enthusiasts in our area recently! Plans are in place for the iconic steam locomotive, No 46233 Duchess of Sutherland, to pass through Wellingborough, Kettering and Corby on the 19th October 2019.

25 years of the National Lottery:

It’s amazing that Corby has been awarded £26,876,685 over the last 25 years from the #NationalLottery25 supporting arts, charities, heritage and sport. Thanks to those who play The National Lottery for making this possible! .

'Plant an Oak Tree' Competition:

Despite some of my general concerns about their approach, I was delighted to receive a tree as part of the recent demonstrations in London, to raise awareness of the importance of tackling climate change and the value of planting trees.

STOP PRESS: More police for Northamptonshire

STOP PRESS! The first recruitment cycle of the Prime Minister's pledge to fund 20,000 new police officers nationally is underway! That means, in the first year, Northamptonshire will get 57 new officers, which is a real boost on top of the local recruitment of 200 which is already underway.
