I recently had the chance to cover the Adjournment Debate in the House on the issue of tackling violent crime in Battersea, and respond on behalf of the Government, outlining the difference that our additional 20,000 police officer uplift has had in making our streets safer, as well as the significant resources we are putting in behind efforts to get knives and other offensive weapons off of our streets. I know that people here in Corby & East Northamptonshire care so strongly about these issues too, and this continues to be a priority of mine locally, working with policing leaders in our area, as well as for the Government nationally. Indeed, we have more police officers now than at any time in Northamptonshire Police's history, but we must never be complacent in our efforts to make our streets safer and keep people of all ages from harm.
