Taste Original in Corby (formerly known as Puredrive) have teamed up with Steel Fest 2019 to organise a 5-a-side football tournament open to businesses in support of the Red Kite Academy, a special school in Corby. It will take place on Sunday 26th May at the Corby Town football ground.

Corby Advice Surgery:

During my recent Corby Advice Surgery, it was very useful to talk with representatives of local residents at Priors Hall Park about their concerns regarding an application for a waste conversion plant on the outskirts of the town.

Question on the future of British Steel:

During an Urgent Question about the future of British Steel, I spoke about my most recent regular catch-up at the Tata steelworks in Corby, and specifically, my strong support for the newly unveiled ‘Steel Charter’.

‘UK Steel Charter’ event:

I signed the ‘UK Steel Charter’, alongside the Minister, Andrew Stephenson MP, who signed it on behalf of the Department for Business, Energy and Industrial Strategy.

The next East Midlands Railway franchise:

Recently, I was informed that Abellio East Midlands (AEM) had successfully been awarded the next East Midlands Railway franchise. This franchise is due to run from August 2019 for 8 years and AEM will introduce new modern trains to the network, providing cleaner, greener, services.

Crazy Hats charity walk:

I was delighted to go along to this year’s annual Crazy Hats walk and support this amazing local charity, who do vital work in our community supporting all aspects of breast cancer care. It was another great event, with an excellent turnout, and I was honoured to have been a part of it!

Prader-Willi Syndrome Awareness Month:

Prader-Willi Syndrome affects approximately 1 in 20,000 people, including people in our community. As part of Prader-Willi Syndrome Awareness Month, I was pleased to visit Gretton House – a first-class residential home for those affected by the condition.

Visit to Tata Steel:

I was pleased to make one of my regular visits to Tata Steel in Corby – an integral part of our community’s rich history and a key local employer. As ever, I enjoyed talking with the works manager and looking round the site, and to see for myself the production line in operation.
