Top up to local business grant fund scheme

I really welcome the announcement made over the weekend providing greater clarity on the discretionary element of the small business grants scheme, along with some extra resourcing, which will undoubtedly address a small number of challenging cases I have been taking up with the councils locally.

75th anniversary of VE Day

To mark the 75th anniversary of VE Day tomorrow, The Royal British Legion is calling on individuals and communities across the UK to come together during key moments to pay tribute to the service and sacrifice of the entire Second World War generation, who did so much in the name of our freedom.

NHS Blood & Transplant (NHSBT) need people who are fit and healthy to keep donating blood as normal. Blood donation sessions and donor centres are still open, and travel to them is essential for the NHS and allowable under the ‘lockdown’ rules.

I’m proud to support Sport England’s ‘Join the Movement’ campaign, because being active can improve your physical health, help manage stress and anxiety, particularly at the challenging time and generally makes people feel better.
