The other day, I had an interesting discussion with Peter Bone MP, Philip Hollobone MP and the new Northamptonshire Healthcare Partnership’s Independent Chairman, about the future of healthcare in North Northamptonshire, particularly as we move to the new unitary authority model, which presents a unique chance to secure real progress. It is so important that we get this right – particularly in delivering better joined up health and social care provision, improved mental health services, ensuring continued support for the ‘hub and spoke’ model approach, including through the Corby Urgent Care Centre, and making the most of the new Kettering General Hospital development. Going forward, I, along with my fellow North Northamptonshire MPs and local councillors, will continue to work hard to drive that agenda forward, as it is crucial to delivering the best possible health services for our community for the years ahead.
