Recently, I joined my fellow Northamptonshire MPs for a joint meeting between the Ministry of Housing, Communities & Local Government and the Department of Health & Social Care, where we talked about the steps we need to take locally to see better joined-up working between health and social care services in the county - something we all wish to see, because it simply makes sense. Locally, we all want to see the very best care for our friends and relatives and this meeting provided a valuable opportunity to discuss with senior Ministers the provision of health and social care locally and how we can rapidly improve things, particularly as we move towards a new unitary authority, which provides an enormous opportunity to do things better - the provision of social care being one such example. As such, I thought I would share the note which came out of the meeting, which sets-out where we are and the ambition to move this forward.
