Today, I had the great privilege of taking Glennis Hooper, the founder of the remarkable Crazy Hats charity, to meet the Prime Minister at a Number 10 Downing Street reception to acknowledge the remarkable achievements of important community figures, the length and breadth of Britain.
Glennis is a remarkable and inspirational woman and through her leadership, the Crazy Hats charity has, in the last twelve years, raised 2 million pounds for breast cancer services and support in Northamptonshire. I also know from my own personal experience, just how valuable the pastoral support Crazy Hats gives is - not just to those suffering directly from breast cancer, but also for their families.
Glennis is extremely keen to see the building of a 'haven' to help support breast cancer sufferers and their families in our area and I hope that today's meeting with the Prime Minister is another step towards making that dream a reality.
Glennis, thank you for everything that you, and the amazing Crazy Hats charity do - it really is appreciated by us all here in Northamptonshire.
