Visit to 'The Green Patch'

I enjoyed hopping over the border into Kettering to visit the Green Patch – a 2.5 acre community garden, which supports local residents by providing school clubs, volunteering opportunities and much more, with a real focus on ensuring better health and wellbeing.

Visit to the new ‘The Good Bean’ at Priors Hall

It was fantastic to visit The Good Bean’s new café at Priors Hall in Corby during their first week of being open. The premises are wonderful and it was great to see so many people enjoying the refreshments they have to offer - stunning coffees, cakes, lunch and brunch!

Local Government in Northamptonshire

It has recently been confirmed by the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities & Local Government that the existing councils in Northamptonshire will be replaced with two new unitary authorities as of the 1st April 2021, following the decision to restructure local government in the county.

The Cottons Medical Centre

Having strongly supported it, I’ve received the fantastic news from the Cottons Medical Centre in Raunds that their application for a surgery extension has been approved in principle.

Question on the Customs Union and trade with developing countries:

Post-Brexit, the Customs Union between the United Kingdom and the European Union is the wrong policy choice for many reasons, but particularly because it stops us doing right by many of the poorest people on the planet, most notably through our trade preferences and tariffs.
