Oundle Refill Revolution shop visit

I really enjoyed visiting the new ‘Refill Revolution’ shop at Oundle Wharf recently to learn more about this fantastic initiative and the ways it is helping local people to reduce the amount of plastic they consume in relation to food and household items.

Brooke Weston Academy visits Westminster:

It was great to meet so many engaged and interested students from Brooke Weston Academy during their recent visit to the Houses of Parliament. Young people always ask the toughest questions and there were many good examples during our discussion!

Oundle North Bridge repairs - pressing for progress

Having campaigned hard alongside local residents and councillors for the repairs to the North Bridge in Oundle, and having secured Government funding to get the works done, I, like many others, am disappointed to see the slow progress and delays on this.

‘Prorogation’ explained

A number of constituents have understandably been in touch with me in respect of the much talked about end of the previous parliamentary session - referred to as ‘prorogation’ - which has now begun. I therefore thought it might be useful to set out the position.

Promoting and supporting women who are making their first steps in business is something that I am proud to champion. That’s why I will be officially launching the new branch of the women’s networking and support group, “Make It Your Business”, in Corby & East Northamptonshire next month.

BookTrust ‘Time to Read Campaign’

This month, BookTrust is reaching over 700,000 reception aged children with a fantastic book and fun activities to enjoy and share at home as part of the ‘Time to Read’ campaign. We all recognise the importance of reading for a young person’s development and mental wellbeing.
