I really enjoyed visiting Year 6 students at Irthlingborough Junior School during their Careers Week, to talk a bit about what I do as the Member of Parliament for Corby & East Northamptonshire, and how I got there. We also talked about how I try and help people locally and my work on a national level. The students asked some fantastic questions, and it was great to see so many with a real interest in politics, law and current affairs. I hear the whole week was a great success, showcasing a wide range of careers and the opportunities available - with my message for the pupils being to work hard, stick the course and go for your goals! My thanks goes to the teachers for organising such an informative and inspiring week – and needless to say, the future is bright and I suspect we have some potential politicians and community leaders in the making!
