Over the past couple of years, I have spoken with residents of Thrapston and Titchmarsh on a number of occasions in respect of their understandable and widespread concerns about proposals for large-scale industrial developments on land near to the town and village. I understand these concerns and I have submitted letters of objection, supporting those submitted by the local campaign group, STAUNCH. You can find copies of these letters below.
Essentially, the main concerns that have been raised with me surround highways matters affecting the busy single-carriageway A605 and the overloaded A14 junction, flooding concerns, and the proposed sites not being referenced in local development plans, with them being proposed on what are greenfield sites. I hope that these legitimate grounds will be taken fully into consideration when the respective applications are determined and that the wishes of local residents are respected when decisions are taken by local councillors.
