During recent months, as part of my Listening to Corby & East Northamptonshire Campaign, a lot of local concerns have been raised with me by residents in Fineshade and the surrounding parishes, about plans to build 70 cabins in Fineshade Wood.
I therefore submitted an objection to it back in November last year, which you can find below.
I am aware, however, that this application is coming before East Northamptonshire Council's (ENC) Development Control Committee next Wednesday and so I have today written to the Chairman, restating my opposition to this proposal and emphasising the level of concern that has been raised with me - a copy of my letter can also be found below. I have also spoken to Councillor Steve North, the Leader of ENC, about this matter.
Local people have mounted such an excellent and impassioned campaign against this proposal and I wish them all the best for Wednesday evening - I very much hope that local wishes will be respected and councillors reject this application. Fineshade Wood is such a beautiful spot and it must be preserved.
