I recently wrote to the Chief Executive of the Planning Inspectorate about a planning appeal (APP/M2840/W/23/3329781) relating to a new block of flats on Scarborough Street in Irthlingborough, with no parking planned to accompany it. Historically, residents that live on Scarborough Street have consistently raised the already extremely difficult present situation in relation to highway safety, congestion and parking that occurs, not least given the fact that the street is home to several busy schools - and all this prior to the suggestion of the addition of more properties in this location. I have therefore written in support of the very valid community objections - it seems absurd to me that an application here would be granted with no plan for additional parking factored into it - it just isn't safe or sustainable. I very much hope that the Inspector will listen and you can see my letter to him below.
