I'm delighted that the brilliant charity, The Mintridge Foundation, from right here in Corby, is among nine charities chosen to features in this year's M&S Christmas advert.
Since being founded in 2015, The Mintridge Foundation has provided positive sporting role models for children to help them improve their physical and mental health and wellbeing. The charity assists young people of all ages, abilities and physical capabilities to develop confidence and resilience, and creates awareness of the importance of mental and physical wellbeing through sport. This is a charity I have been proud to support over the years, including running the London Marathon to raise money for them last year.
This Christmas, M&S is donating £1 million to 1,000 community groups across the UK, ensuring the gifts M&S customers give this Christmas go towards supporting community causes and families in their area. Together with Neighbourly, M&S heard from hundreds of groups across the UK to shortlist a selection of amazing causes to not only support, but also to raise awareness of the important work they do. Nine of these community groups feature in their TV advert, including The Mintridge Foundation. To see them recognised by M&S is brilliant and you can watch the advert, here: https://tinyurl.com/nvuj2tds and hear more from the charities in a behind the scenes video, here: https://tinyurl.com/25xjrc7u. Great to see!
