I recently met with Newlands Developments to hear more about their proposed industrial scheme for Thrapston. It was useful to hear a detailed update regarding their plans, including the introduction of over 2,500 new FTE jobs in the area, occupying a range of roles, training and apprenticeship opportunities, delivering new cycleways and footpaths and a plan for net-zero carbon development, involving an array of green infrastructure on their site. They also outlined their ongoing dialogue with local communities and campaign groups, including STAUNCH, who have raised what are very reasonable objections - which I again echoed on their behalf and will continue to do so, as part of the formal planning process. I have encouraged them to maintain the engagement going forward and I will continue to ensure the very legitimate concerns of my constituents are heard.
