Given our rich Scottish heritage, people in Corby are overwhelmingly pro the United Kingdom union, but they also voted overwhelmingly to leave the European Union. In light of this, I asked the Secretary of State for Scotland, what impact he believed that ignoring referendum results (given the constant clamour of the SNP for a second unwanted Scottish independence referendum), and not leaving the European Union, would have on the devolution settlement, and by extension the integrity of the UK union. He responded that he is absolutely clear that the results of both referendums - in 2014 and in 2016 - should be honoured. The Government are determined to do so - a sentiment I entirely share.
