Over the years, I’ve been really pleased to visit Tata Steel on many occasions and last Friday was no different. I was really interested to hear more about the various ongoing projects on the site, which are all aimed at making the business more resilient for the future, protecting local steelmaking in Corby, with the ambition of this being the first ‘green steelworks’ in the country - a cornerstone industry for us, and of which we are extremely proud. It is also so welcome that plans are afoot to deliver significant regeneration of the estate, supporting wider new business activity, on what is a brownfield site, with thousands of new jobs set to be unlocked. I look forward to seeing these projects take shape over the months and years ahead and really appreciated the briefing.
