I was glad to meet with representatives from the STAUNCH campaign, including its Chairman, Kevin Shapland, to hear an update on the campaign’s progress and walk the site in Titchmarsh, which is at threat from the proposed industrial developments. In short, this is the wrong place for a whole host of reasons, and I continue to maintain that developments of this sort should be prioritised on brownfield sites in the first instance, rather than resorting to a site such as this, which is greenfield, has huge environmental value, and isn’t in the local plan. I will continue to actively help ensure that local views are heard as part of the planning process.
