The other week, I had a meeting with representatives from NHS England responsible for dentistry in the Midlands. Over recent months, a number of constituents have expressed concerns to me about difficulties accessing dentist appointments locally and I have sought to offer my assistance with these concerns individually. As such, this meeting was useful in getting a wider update on the situation at present and the plans for improving access moving forward - indeed, you can see some of the welcome local improvements being made listed in the graphic. The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care has also announced recently ‘Our plan for patients’, which prioritises a range of actions, including in relation to dentistry, which I will actively explore moving forward to try and help build on these existing capacity improvements.
