Local health services have been high on the agenda in my conversations with local people of late, and in the correspondence I receive, and I have been in regular communication with our hardworking local providers about this issue. As such, I was pleased to have a really productive meeting with Corby Urgent Care Centre to hear more about their delivery of services and how any challenges are being worked through.
I know that demand is high, but it is fair to say that the CUCC does so much to relieve the pressures on Kettering General Hospital, whilst providing an invaluable 8am-8pm service, day in, day out, that local people consistently tell me is invaluable and reliable. This was a useful catch-up and I am really grateful to the hugely dedicated Urgent Care Centre team for meeting with me, with a few points to take away and reflect in my conversations with local health service commissioners.
I have long argued and campaigned on the fact that this is a vital service, which is undoubtedly a key part of our local health services landscape, and long may that continue!
