At the weekend I wrote to the Secretary of State for Health & Social Care setting out my concerns about the situation that the Novavax trial volunteers in Corby are still faced with - a limbo with no certainty in sight, having done an incredible thing in agreeing to step forward and participate in vaccine trials at a crucial time earlier in the pandemic. I strongly feel that this situation needs to be swiftly remedied, and that appropriate support, clarity and reassurance should be provided to these nearly 600 local people who were willing to help push forward our national fight against this insidious disease that has impacted on us all in so many ways. They too need to be able to fully enjoy the freedoms that the easing of restrictions have brought about - I shall keep the pressure up.
