Recently, I wrote to the chief executives of a number of the housing associations in our area, and North Northamptonshire Council, following the inquiry into the tragic death of Awaab Ishak. In my letter, I asked for assurances around dealing with damp and mould in residents’ homes locally, quickly and proactively, as part of efforts to ensure that the lessons have been learned, as a tragedy like this must never be allowed to happen again.
