I was delighted to be informed by the Department of Health & Social Care that Kettering General Hospital NHS Foundation Trust has been lifted from special measures. This followed an inspection by the Care Quality Commission, which found the Trust to be “Good” in many areas. What’s more, the Commission also highlighted areas of outstanding practice – something both the hard-working staff and Board at the Trust can be immensely proud of. Whilst there is still undoubtedly more to do to secure further improvement, I am pleased to see this positive step forward from both a patient and staff perspective – well done to all involved for their hard work.
