It’s English Tourism Week from 17-26th March and, once again, I am very pleased to be supporting this opportunity to celebrate the enormous and hugely important contribution of tourism across the country, but particularly here in Corby & East Northamptonshire, where we have so many incredible attractions, sites of real historic interest and our beautiful rural settings, including the likes of the Corby Heritage Centre, Fineshade Wood, Lyveden New Bield, and Rockingham Castle, to name just a few!
This year’s theme is ‘Celebrating amazing experiences and amazing people’, highlighting the role played by the wonderful people working in the sector and how they ensure visitors have amazing experiences and add to the vibrancy of local communities. I really can think of so many locally, who I have had the great privilege to meet over the years. The tourism industry is worth millions to our local economy and as ever, I’m keen that local people and those from further afield make the most of what our fantastic area has to offer, supporting local businesses and jobs in the process. This week is a great advert, showcasing all of Northamptonshire in all its glory - and if you've not yet visited, don't delay!
