Since the start of 2023 we’ve been working to halve inflation, grow the economy, and reduce debt, and we’ve made progress on all three. Because of the approach we’ve taken on the economy, we’ able to cut taxes for 29 million working people by an average of £900 a year, as well as increasing the state pension by £900 per year. From the 1st April we’re also increasing the National Living Wage to £11.44 an hour – representing an average £1,800 boost for a fulltime worker - whilst the Energy Price Cap drops to its lowest level since 2022, leaving people with more money in their pockets. I know these announcements will be hugely welcome in Corby & East Northamptonshire, and I’m clear that if we stick to our plan, we will deliver a brighter economic future.
