Recently, I was part of a debate in the House on the UN International Day of Persons with Disabilities, speaking in my role as Minister for Disabled People, Health & Work. I look forward to continuing to work cross-party to ensure that disabled people are able to access the vital support that they need to improve their lives and flourish across a whole range of areas, as well as being able to access work opportunities where appropriate, but rightly with a strong safety net in place. I am proud also of the work that we have done internationally to further this cause over the years and of the enormous contribution that disabled people make to our society in so many, often inspirational, ways, day in, day out. We had a very wide-ranging, constructive debate about creating a more inclusive society, and it was a privilege to respond on behalf of the Government.
