I recently responded on behalf of the Government to a sensitive and important Adjournment Debate on the operation of the Births and Deaths Registration Act 1953, which came in the wake of the five year anniversary of the horrific Manchester Arena terror attack. The debate centred around the registration of deaths for victims of that tragedy and the involvement of their loved ones and the impact this issue has on the families - something I am now actively looking at.
