Today, along with Peter Bone MP, I met with the Rt. Hon George Osborne MP, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, to discuss the enormous response we have had to our joint Listening Campaign on the issue of dualling the A45 between Stanwick and the A14 at Thrapston, and securing long overdue improvements to the Chowns Mill Roundabout.
The meeting was held in the Chancellor's office in Westminster, and we were able to stress the overwhelming strength of feeling locally on this issue. This stretch of the A45 is incredibly dangerous, as is the Chowns Mill Roundabout, and too many serious accidents have happened here - sadly, some fatal. With the Rushden Lakes development at Skew Bridge on its way, we really do believe that now is a good time to get these long-overdue improvements in place.
Rest assured that we will continue to press the case and I am very pleased that the Chancellor took the time to listen to our concerns and promised to look into the issue. You can support the campaign today by sending me an email to office@votepursglove.co.uk.
