Prime Minister Responds to North Northamptonshire EU Referendum!

Given the significant local response to the North Northamptonshire EU Referendum and Peter Bone MP, Philip Hollobone MP and I, delivering the results to Downing Street a couple of weeks ago, this week, we received an official response from the Prime Minister.

'More Fire Cover Campaign' Succeeds!

I was delighted to hear the news today of Northamptonshire Fire and Rescue Service’s proposals to enhance fire cover in Corby, after months of campaigning on this issue through the More Fire Cover Campaign.

Tom takes remarkable 'community champions' to Number 10!

Samantha Cameron has today hosted a reception at 10 Downing Street for community champions and I was delighted to nominate two guests to join me in attending, in recognition of their fantastic work locally.

Planning Application 14/00094/OUT

A lot of local concerns have been raised with me by residents in Cottingham and Middleton about planning application 14/00094/OUT, which is coming before Corby Borough Council's Development Control Committee on Tuesday evening.  So, I have today written to the Chairman, restating my opposition to this proposal and endorsing the planning officer's recommendation that it be 'refused'.

Tom Pursglove & Peter Bone MP Refute Labour A45 Scare Story

Labour have claimed that the A45 dualling between Stanwick and the A14 at Thrapston has been shelved and no work will be done for at least a decade.  Both Peter Bone MP, the Member of Parliament for Wellingborough, and I, categorically refute this scare story. 

Tom Launches 'More Fire Cover Campaign'

I was recently made aware of the possibility that one of the existing fire appliances at Corby Fire Station might be removed and replaced with a Cobra Intervention Vehicle.  So, I am campaigning to protect the second fire appliance at Corby Fire Station and believe the introduction of the new Cobra Intervention Vehicle, should not be at the expense of existing provision - it should be in addition, to provide a further option for our local firefighters, when responding to calls.
