Work Experience

Parliament

As the local MP, I am a big supporter of apprenticeships, and was delighted to have the opportunity to present the awards soon after I was elected at the NITAL annual awards ceremony.  And, I am very keen to offer work experience opportunities to students from across Corby & East Northamptonshire - not least because this is how I started out!  These placements give the young people an insight in to local and national politics and a chance to boost their skills. Those who come for work experience are able to help with a number of tasks:

  • Researching an issue.

  • Taking press-cuttings.

  • Writing press releases.

  • Accompanying me to meetings or events in the House of Commons, or in the constituency.

  • Assisting with general office duties.

  • Watch debates in the House of Commons, observe Select Committee Hearings, and see debates in Westminster Hall.

Please contact me to enquire about work experience in my office.
