Recently, I made one of my regular visits to Tata Steel in Corby to get an update on the business, particularly in-light of COVID-19 and the challenges it has brought for the sector. I was pleased to see for myself how they have adapted the way they work, in close cooperation with the unions, to ensure that their employees are kept safe and it was also good to hear about their plans for the future. It is so important that our steel industry is supported and I am grateful to Tata Steel for their constructive working relationship, which means I am constantly able to champion Corby steelmaking and raise any issues or concerns with Ministers on behalf of the sector.
