I was delighted to learn today that the Court of Appeal has ruled to uphold the High Court's decision to quash the Planning Inspectorate’s approval for a wind turbine development close to Lyveden New Bield. To my mind, putting up a wind farm here would have been an utter travesty – ruinous vandalism in fact. Lyveden New Bield is a historically important heritage asset and should without question be preserved. I very much admire the local campaign that has been fought on this issue and congratulate all those involved with it. I hope that the developer will respect this verdict and abandon the Barnwell Manor proposal once and for all. As the Director of Together Against Wind, the national anti-wind farm campaign, which is leading the charge to change national onshore wind farm policy, I shall continue to campaign hard on this issue, with a view to ending the wind farm folly once and for all.
