Recently, I was pleased to join Alicia Kearns, the MP for Rutland & Melton, and Gareth Davies, the MP for Grantham & Stamford, for a call regarding the provision of GP services locally and concerns about the closure of St Mary’s Surgery in Stamford and merging it with the Sheepmarket Surgery. Although not in my constituency, many of those who live in the northern villages of East Northamptonshire access GP services in Stamford and whilst it is right that Gareth takes the lead in raising this as it falls within his constituency, I am actively making sure local service users’ views are heard on this and will support him in any way I can to help find a solution.
