Ahead of Wednesday night’s planning meeting at East Northamptonshire Council, and following my recent meetings with local residents and Oundle Town Council, I have submitted a formal objection to the Cotterstock Road application - 19/01327/OUT - which is coming before the committee for determination.
There are clearly strong planning grounds for throwing out this proposal in any event, but I have also stressed my strong view that this application should not be irreversibly approved, in advance of the various ongoing planning policy matters being amicably resolved - as detailed in my recent post following my meeting with Oundle Town Council, which you can find, here: https://www.facebook.com/TomPursgloveMP/photos/a.222860804559406/1483822498463224/?type=3&theater.
I will of course continue to follow this issue closely, as to my mind it is important that the most appropriate sites are developed so that the necessary housing can be delivered to meet local need, but with as little impact as possible on our local infrastructure and the rural character of our town. Ultimately, I believe the appropriate time and care should be taken to get this right and that is exactly the case I will continue to make. With that in mind, I hope common sense will prevail and this application is refused on Wednesday evening.
