A new policing base in Corby, hundreds more officers, and an afternoon out on the beat with our local police!

Having been a consistent campaigner on policing issues, it is very pleasing to see that work delivering results with the opening of the new police base at the Corby Cube, increasing policing visibility and presence in the town, along with the recruitment of hundreds of new police officers in Northamptonshire, through the Police, Fire & Crime Commissioner’s local scheme, and further boosted by the Prime Minister’s commitment to fund 20,000 more officers nationally. This means that in our county, we will soon have more police officers on roll than we have ever had at any one time, and I have no doubt that improved police presence will make a huge difference to the tireless work they do, day in, day out, to keep us safe. It was also very useful, as ever, for me to go out on the beat with them and learn more about the challenges they face in the line of duty, when out on the beat catching criminals and deterring crime. As their local MP, they have my 100% backing in that vital work. You can find the video I produced about my afternoon, here.
