Recently, I had one of my regular catch-up meetings with the Chief Executive of the Corby and Nene Clinical Commissioning Groups. These meetings are always useful to discuss matters such as the Urgent Care Centre in Corby and other NHS related issues, such as the provision of mental health care locally and easy GP access. It was good to hear about the first-class care being provided at the Urgent Care Centre and the smooth transition from the old contract to the new, and to also talk a little bit more about the significant efforts being made to boost GP appointment capacity locally and to ensure better integration between health and social care services - something we are all working hard towards achieving.
