It was good to catch up with Councillor Tom Beattie, the Leader of Corby Borough Council recently to discuss a number of matters, but in particular the transition to unitary authorities in Northamptonshire and the new money made available to Corby through the ‘Towns Fund’. It was good to be able to discuss progress and ask one another questions about these important issues and I look forward to being able to support the Council as they bid for the money from the ‘Towns Fund’ in particular, given that £25 million is a very significant boost and we must all work together to get the bid right to maximise its impact. I was also pleased to be able to pass on feedback to Ministers regarding the transition to a unitary authority locally and we will continue to work constructively on this too for the good of local residents.
