I had a meeting with the Leader and the Chief Executive of Corby Borough Council, to discuss a number of issues such as the hundreds of new jobs that have recently come to the town through new employers, the regrettable preparations for the EU elections, the unitary authority proposals, house building and associated infrastructure, and the need for more new school places. Specifically on the issue of school places, we discussed an identified potential location for a new school, and interest that has been expressed by an organisation interested in delivering new, additional places, and I am really keen to do all I can to help push this along. We also spoke about Corby Nightlight, and the remarkable work the charity has done in the past, and how the council can best support that work in future - something I too am keen to continue to do in any way that I can. A productive meeting and it is very positive to be making progress on these important issues - things get done when politicians work together locally, regardless of party labels.
