On Sunday 10th July, I hosted a hugely enjoyable charity cricket fixture at the Islip Sports Field, involving a House of Commons XI vs a local side. It was a lovely sunny day and a great opportunity for the community to come together and to raise some money for the superb Mintridge Foundation - a local Corby & East Northamptonshire charity that provide taster sessions in schools across the country, run with their Ambassadors - Olympians, Paralympians and other professional sports stars from over 20 sports; both team and individual. The fixture showcased the wonderful Islip Sports Field and its fantastic pavilion - a brilliant facility that provides a multitude of sporting opportunities for people of all ages in our community. The House of Commons XI came firmly second, but thanks to all who played and those who came along!
