As part of my Listening Campaign, a number of local residents have raised with me the issue of TV signal interference.
This is potentially as a result of the erection of the 9 wind turbines at Chelveston; particularly those houses with aerials pointing east toward the Sandy Heath transmitter.
Actually, I remember residents of Burton Latimer suffering similar problems when the Burton Wold Wind Farm was built and I think I’m right in saying that this was one of the reasons why a condition was added to the planning permission, requiring CRE, the developer, to address any such problems arising from the erection of these turbines at Chelveston.
As such, I promised to go away and look into this matter, and although I hope you won’t have been affected, I thought that all residents locally might be interested to hear of my findings, in case you have.
Essentially, if you have been affected, you might like to contact the East Northamptonshire Council (ENC) Planning Enforcement Officer, Sue Scott, at sscott@east-northamptonshire.gov.uk or by telephone on 01832 742149. She will need the following information from you:
• Your full contact details.
• The dates and times of events.
• Your broadcast platform (DTT, digital, satellite, etc).
• Has the interference you’ve suffered been getting progressively worse, or was it sudden?
• Has your antenna receiving the signal been recently changed (including for digital switchover etc) or could anything else have caused damage to it?
I’m told that CRE will then investigate your complaint and arrange for TV engineers to attend.
