Recently, I received the exciting news from the Football Foundation that funding for a new project in Corby has now been confirmed. Corby and Kettering have been awarded £3,198 to replace unsafe goalposts in our area. I am delighted by this news as it means that local children and young people and indeed people of all ages, will be able to take advantage of the opportunity to play outdoors, which has so many positive health and wellbeing benefits. A kick-about in the fresh air is a really healthy activity and is something we should be encouraging people of all ages to do, and having good facilities is a key part of this. Whether it’s running marathons, cycling, swimming or football, sport is a great way to keep fit and meet new people and I am really pleased that this funding is now in place to help improve our sports facilities locally!
