A serious concern of mine at the moment is the recently submitted planning application for a timber lodge holiday park in Fineshade Wood. Fineshade Wood is a site of great natural beauty, and brings huge pleasure and opportunity to local residents in a great number of ways. It is unthinkable that, having so recently fought off Forest Holidays’ intention to develop the site, another destructive application could blight Fineshade in the same way. This week, I wrote to both the Rt. Hon Michael Gove MP, Secretary of State for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs, as well as to David Oliver, Chief Executive at East Northamptonshire Council, urging them to work to protect Fineshade Wood from this unwanted development. I will post any updates here as I get them. You can find the full version of the letters I sent, below.
