On the topic of the Windrush Compensation Scheme, I have previously raised the issue of the role for those affected in helping to design the scheme, and get it right. Now it is in operation, I asked the Minister for Immigration if there will continue to be a place for that input. The Minister told me that last week the Home Secretary hosted an event for those affected, which was also attended by Wendy Williams, who is conducting the review, and Martin Forde. She further announced that they will be holding a programme of events across the country. Martin Forde has on many occasions reflected that this is about building and rebuilding trust, and the Department is grateful to all those who have helped them to reach out to members of the Windrush generation so that they can try to do exactly that.
