During Defence Questions, I raised the important role of mentoring schemes for veterans, especially those focussed on veterans who have fallen into the criminal justice system, and enquired as to whether this will be a forthcoming Comprehensive Spending Review priority for the Ministry of Defence. These important schemes, such as those run by Care after Combat, play a major role in dramatically reducing reoffending rates among veterans who have found themselves in difficult circumstances following their service, and I was delighted to hear the Minister pay tribute to this important work.
