Many people locally have understandably been concerned about the rates of infection that we have seen of late here in Corby, and I’ve been monitoring the situation closely over the past few weeks, supporting the local response, and have posted various updates here. The good news is that cases are coming down, just not as quickly as they ought to be when compared to neighbouring areas and most of the country.
So we need a big whole community push to really get the rate of infection under control by following the guidance and all doing our bit - not least to keep those we love safe and to help our incredible frontline health and social care staff who are working tirelessly under the most enormous pressure.
More local testing paired with the continuing roll-out of the vaccination here in Corby & East Northamptonshire will help enormously, but it is crucial that people still minimise contact as much as possible, so that we can move to a stable position and most importantly so that we can keep more people throughout our community safe. Having had a negative test or received a vaccine dose does not mean there is no risk to you or your family - we really must all continue to stick by the rules, as tough and frustrating as it is. We really can all play our part - and we must. You can also keep an eye on my regular updates on this, here: https://www.votepursglove.co.uk/news.
