Tom Pursglove & Peter Bone MP Refute Labour A45 Scare Story

Labour have claimed that the A45 dualling between Stanwick and the A14 at Thrapston has been shelved and no work will be done for at least a decade.  Both Peter Bone MP, the Member of Parliament for Wellingborough, and I, categorically refute this scare story. 

Tom Launches 'More Fire Cover Campaign'

I was recently made aware of the possibility that one of the existing fire appliances at Corby Fire Station might be removed and replaced with a Cobra Intervention Vehicle.  So, I am campaigning to protect the second fire appliance at Corby Fire Station and believe the introduction of the new Cobra Intervention Vehicle, should not be at the expense of existing provision - it should be in addition, to provide a further option for our local firefighters, when responding to calls.

A45/Chowns Mill Roundabout Listening Campaign Succeeds!

I was delighted to hear this morning that the Chancellor of the Exchequer, the Rt. Hon George Osborne MP, has today given the go ahead for up to £25 million of funding to upgrade the Chowns Mill Roundabout and a study into dualling the A45 between Stanwick and Thrapston, to improve safety and ensure that the A45 can provide a continuous expressway between the A14 and the M1.

Planning Application 14/01704/FUL - Fineshade Wood

As part of my Listening Campaign, a lot of local concerns have been raised with me by residents in Fineshade and the surrounding parishes, about plans to build 70 cabins in Fineshade Wood. I have therefore submitted an objection to it, reflecting the extent of local concerns.

A45/Chowns Mill Roundabout Listening Campaign taken to the Chancellor!

Today, along with Peter Bone MP, I met with the Rt. Hon George Osborne MP, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, to discuss the enormous response we have had to our joint Listening Campaign on the issue of dualling the A45 between Stanwick and the A14 at Thrapston, and securing long overdue improvements to the Chowns Mill Roundabout.

Justice Secretary drops in to meet local magistrates

The Justice Secretary, the Rt. Hon Chris Grayling MP, has today visited Corby Magistrates' Court as part of my Listening Campaign, to talk about local justice issues, including HM Courts & Tribunals Service's proposals for changes to 'listing patterns' in Northamptonshire.

Corby Fire Station Visit

Today, I visited Corby Fire Station to meet with Fire Brigades Union (FBU) representatives and local firefighters, to talk about their concerns relating to plans to remove one of the existing fire appliances at the station and replace it with a Cobra Intervention Vehicle.
