The independent Boundary Commission for England has today reported its initial recommendations for new parliamentary constituency boundaries in England, to come into effect at the next General Election. To see what that means for Corby & East Northamptonshire, and other constituencies across England, you can go to: https://boundarycommissionforengland.independent.gov.uk/2023-review/.
As things stand, the Commission is proposing to remove Hargrave, Raunds and Stanwick from the Corby & East Northamptonshire Constituency and transfer them to a quite dramatically revised Wellingborough seat. Admittedly, this is just the initial part of the process and there will be plenty of opportunity for local people to have their say in due course and to feed into the review.
Personally, I would much rather the constituency be retained exactly as it is today, but that will be impossible, given that our electorate is way over the allowable quota, but I will be sure to share my detailed thoughts on what they are proposing on my website and social media channels, once I have had the opportunity to properly digest what is being proposed and taken the chance to hear local views.
