Last week, I had a call with a representative of the Friends of Fineshade Wood and Councillor Annabel de Capell Brooke regarding the latest expansion proposals from Augean for their site at King’s Cliffe. It was really useful to talk about the proposals and the potential impact on local wildlife and amenity, as well as the wider community. Following this meeting, I have had a productive email exchange with Augean who assure me they are keeping an open mind about the proposals and are looking at all options. I also asked them to extend the date for consultation responses to be made, given the impact of the pandemic on everyone, and I would encourage local people to take part in the consultation on the plans. Welcomely, it has now been agreed that the closing date for the consultation will be extended to the 15th February. I will of course continue to follow this closely and I plan to have a follow-up meeting with the developer and other stakeholders soon to discuss a number of concerns that have been raised with me.
