Recently, residents of Warrens Close in Irthlingborough got in touch with me regarding their very legitimate concerns about a proposed development of flats and the significant difficulties this will cause in parking terms for a close that was originally built for six properties, but now provides parking for many more than that. It was useful to meet with residents on the ground to understand more about the concerns and to see them for myself. It seems very apparent to me that an additional development, as proposed, would cause significant parking difficulties, which could in turn effect emergency and utility service vehicles' access, as well as the obvious difficulties for residents in a profound way. I will be raising these concerns with North Northamptonshire Council and the Planning Inspectorate formally, which are considering the relevant applications presently. This is seemingly a clear-cut case of overdevelopment and should be rejected accordingly.
